Comments I left to [livejournal.com profile] lunar_echo:

'She told me once there is a part of her in everyone, though Neil believes I'm more Delirium than Tori, and Death taught me to accept that, you know, wear your butterflies with pride. And when I do accept that, I know Death is somewhere inside of me. She was the kind of girl all the girls wanted to be, I believe, because of her acceptance of "what is." She keeps reminding me there is change in the "what is" but change cannot be made till you accept the "what is."

'. . .Over the last few hours I've allowed myself to feel defeated, and just like she said if you allow yourself to feel the way you really feel, maybe you won't be afraid of that feeling anymore.'
- Tori Amos

We are designed to notice and understand patterns. We are able to make changes to them, when we recognise what those pattens are. Because then we see them, then we can see how they work, how they fit with the other patterns that we link together and call a world-view, and when we know as much about that, as we can, then we have the understanding of how to make it something else.

Dreams wer of trips to stores, in shopping centres that I haven't seen since I was a kid, malls and people's houses at night, and a cameo by Alton Brown to tell the gaming group to keep the noise down. All of those things spun out into their own longer sections, of course.

I'm going to go eat something. I'm going to need my strength, today.

Like anything we are able to do, however, we do not necessarily need to continually make changes. Last night: discussion of Pentecostal denominations and Snake Handling. It will be given to them the ability to do, whom Jesus has chosen, sure; what I mean is you'll be able to handle snakes, and fear not poison, but shit man, Jesus didn't say do it all the time. Just, if it should happen to come up, don't worry about it.

Same with the rest of the powers given unto the chosen. You can make golems, but should you do it every day? I don't think so. That's a lot of damned golems.

Tom Waits - [Spare Parts II and Closing]--- Whatever, all I'm saying is, though you can make changes, all the time, that doesn't mean that those changes will be beneficial to make. Break it down, see if the change is going to do you good or ill, and if that ill might not be a long term good.

Set your goals, plan to reach them.

I'm out.
