Last night's post Obviously offended some people. That's unfortunate.

The article linked had biaases and inaccuracies, this is true. Well spotted.

So does PETA.

So does anything out there.

My points still stand: Domestication leads to better, more enriched lives for animals, many times.

Domestication most likely wasn't intended to be a cruel process, but a mutually beneficial one/

Forcing beliefs upon others (as PETA and other groups often do) will most likely only make those people resentful and less likely to listen.

You're offended, I'm offended.

Let's do something productive about it.

PETA is way to extreme to be properly effective.

I donate to animal rescue leagues and the like despite their best efforts.

My point exactly. Extremist groups never seem to understand that bombastic strategies lead most often to retaliation, rather than reconciliation and understanding.

My grandmother gave me her furcoat in the 90's, when PETA was throwing paint on people. Unfortunately I never used it because, well, I live in mississippi. Moths ate it.

That's so sad... At least the moths ate well.

Ach, eh, now who's goin' around tellin' people how to live, ye snibbit overlordin' peoplepusher!

...I got nothing. I really do have no idea. And snibbit's definitely not a word. I looked it up on dictionary.reference.com and the first alternate, where it asks, "Did you mean this instead?" was ALSO not a word. Why, then, was that alternative on the list?
On the plus side, I learned the meaning of the word snib, which means "latch," such that a window can be difficult to open because it's snibbed from the other side.
And I will definitely be using that word. And perhaps also the word peoplepusher. But snibbit? Really, now.

Snibbit's a neologism. Were you drunk when you made it up?

Them's the new rules..
