Shinjuku Filth & Darrin Verhagen - [....]--- I remember a scent that I haven't smelled in a long time: The scent of dew on the spring greenery, at just before dawn.

But I smelled it All the Time. It was a cooler, more refreshing spring, three and four years ago, and I don't think that's just nostalgia talking. I remember how I felt, when I first read House of Leaves, talking about it, later with [livejournal.com profile] damnedsaint, and going to the Masquerade, smoking, drinking, hanging around. And I remember, earlier than that, how it felt to ride around with [livejournal.com profile] kyrael and Capiz, listening to Tool, and talking about magic, Runes, New Orleans, and Weird Shit. (Attrition - [Iae (In the Nursery Remix)]). And i remember that It Smelled Different.

It felt different.

There wasn't this choking, cloying smog of haze and heat, and I have to wonder if I get those back. Those feelings and smells.

Weird when the climate change affects your memories.

I should be asleep, or studying.

That's odd

It's been a rather cold Spring up here, slow to start...it hasn't really even started to smell like Spring up here, but that's because it's still vaguely winter.

Maybe Spring moved out of Atlanta, too.

I started to smell something Like it, today. But that was for a few minutes, at around 9 am. Not Hours, before dawn.

I hope we can figure some way to balance the cold and the inordinately hot.

Mm. I've kind of learned to simply hold those memories for what they are...Things rarely, if ever, let you back.

But we can always hope.

Spring, and the realization and perception thereof, is often a state of mind. Perhaps, what with the stressfulness of your schooling, you have been unable to reach it.

I hope not, because it's only getting worse, and I'd like to know spring, again, before the world ends.
