Assesment: Demand the Future
Mar. 25th, 2006 03:15 amCranes - [Shining Road]--- I want to buy
warren_ellis a drink, and then yell at him. The largest reader base of any person with whom I've ever had actual conversation (I've met Neil Gaiman, but that was for a few seconds, one day, and to ask him a question, the next; funny story on the latter, another time.), and yet he just talks. Mentions these things in passing (in this case QR Code), but doesn't suggest that, perhaps, there is the wide use of getting an honest and accurate accounting of the things we ingest. (cEvin Key - [Tatayama (w/ K. Tokoi)]).This is Big Shit, People.
Think of it: having the ability to know, right now, where that burger came from. Where those vegitables came from, the precise conditions underwhich they were grown. Here we have the ability to retain a near-constant stream of context, for everything we encounter. The tools to teach ourselves the history and constituent present of the things in our lives.
So. Since he's not doing it, I will: Go look, go research, go find. Demand something better, something more. Demand your future at the rate of safe-as-can-reasonably-be-expected generation.
Context is key, but so is construction. We need to know what we're made of, internally, as well as the external factors that guide us.
I need to go the fuck to bed, so I can do more work tomorrow.
