Bigdumbface - [Fightin' Stance]--- Whatever You Do, Don't Answer The Phone... Or, y'know, see this movie. They literally took one of the oldest urban legends ever, and made it into a fucking horror flick, for the spring. What the fuk is wrong with Hollywood?

Seriously, people. Do better.

You do realize it's a remake of a movie from 1979 with the same title? So it's even more evidence of a lack of ideas than you said.

And if I remember correctly, the original is the source of the oft quoted but never cited line "The call is coming from inside the house."

Really? See, I thought that legend existed, prior to the movie, and that that line was a feature, but if it has a root, in film, then that kind of makes it a bit better.

Kind of.

Yeah, I saw that, and figured someone else would see it, too. At first I had hoped that they weren't the same movie, but no.

No.

Dude!

According to one of the reviews of the '79 version of the movie, the kids she checks on throughout the movie are already dead. That makes the whole story like a hundred times more cool, even if it does make you want to strangle her for not checking a pulse.
And even if it doesn't make it worthy of a feature-length film. Kinda like The Polar Express...It's really great stuff, but there's not enough there. Stretching it devalues it, just like printing more money.

I like that. I hope they keep it, as it would be a gutsy move, on hollywood's part, not having done something like that, in a long time. They're kind of loathe to kill off the sympathetic children, but, in a horror movie, it's exactly that kind of dislocation that you need.

No, I won't unless someone forces me to. I refuse to give them my approval for making crap and I vote on that with my cash. I will not give them a dime for this pos
