Tool - [Jimmy]--- You are now given the unique opportunity to ask one thing of me, and one thing only: A Book.

That's right, the name of one book, from my own Library, which I think You would do well to read. Not a book I read and think others should read, because I liked it. I may well have hated the book you get. But there's only one way to know, at this juncture.

Ask.

Dream Well

Stardust is all well and good, but if you've not yet read Anansi Boys, then you need to, right now.

From: [identity profile] wolven.livejournal.com
A Clockwork Orange, Anthony Burgess. The Original, not the parred down American crap. All 21 chapters.

I don't know if it was abridged or not, but I read it in 1999, I beleive. Seemed fairly close to the film. Don't think what was deleted would have made much of difference in the movie, as the general idea is still there.

I don't like either version, frankly. The violence didn't serve the stories at all and all the slang in the book was quite distracting. Of coourse, I only read it that one time, so my opinion may change on another reading.

Deja Vu.

The Abbridged version doesn't show Alex's True choice, and his realisation of the knowledge of the title. He doesn't fully put together what he has lost and regained, until the end. Try it again.

Also, Doctor Faustus, Christopher Marlowe
