Pretty great stuff. I remember cochlear implants form a story arc on "ER" a few years ago. It was interesting, but I never looked them up. Glad to see that the research is still going on.

Are the mind and the soul the same thing?

And that's also inconclusive, but I like to think of the mind as a component part of the soul.
