LUXT - [Inside]--- What i mean is, when you have that running-down-a-hill feeling, and you know that iff you stop moving, you'll fall, and defiantely die (avalanche, lava, whatever), so you keep running, and watching your footing, trying to stay ahead of the rocks, ad roots, and holes that want to wrench your ankle, and tear you down. You plan, and you run.Looking for higher ground, that's not crumbling, looking for an upward slope, looking for a titanium bunker, to block the way.

What I'm saying is, in todays's world, we may not be thinking through the implications of our actions, quite as much as we should be, because we are too busy running for our fucking lives.

Placebo - [Passive Aggressive]--- I'm tired, today. I'm going to go exercise while watching "Grosse Pointe Blank." Then I'm going to eat, then shower, then read some dense Phi-Psy, regarding ethics, and such.

KMFDM - [Ready to Blow]--- Watched "Resident Evil," last night. Honestly, who was expecting anything other than shitty camera angles, T-Virus, Zombies, Lickers, Dogs, and the Constant threat of running out of ammunition? If you were expecting more than this, did you ever Play the game? You figure out what caused the infection, you try to help, you realise it's hopeless, then you get the fuck out, before taking off and nuking the place from orbit, as the only way to be sure. Movie over.

There weren't characters there, to have depth. There was no plot, outside of the Umbrella spreading over everything. All else was... set dressing. Back drop. The Corp, the Zombies, and the Situation were the key.

I'm out.

You know what i've always wondered about Resident Evil... why were there no zombie mice?

Or those bunnies? Were they just immune, after being given the anti-virus? Why wasn't the staff given an anti-virus booster, as part of the normal monthly physical, you know they had?

Things we write down, and remember, for the future.

Well, from the way I understand the T-virus working, the anti-virus provided an imunity from infection once you were injected with it- but ONLY if you were injected within a certian time frame of infection. It didnt work as a preventative before the fact. And in fact could do some serisouly fucked up things if given on the wrong side of the window of safety.

Not to mention if given in large mixed doses.

Exactly. So, in that case, develop a vaccine. Use it.

Large, multi-national, mega-corp. They can make a vaccine.

"did you ever Play the game?"

Thank you. I argued and argued with [livejournal.com profile] adamdoochin over the various game-related nuances of the movie until I finally asked him if he'd ever even played the game in the first place. He said no, so I told him that he had nothing resembling a valid argument.

And then a few months ago, he insisted that I see RE:Apocalypse.

For the record, he also challenged and denounced the logic behind the touch screen on the Nintendo DS. And then one day he showed up in class with his new DS, and highly recommended that people get one.

Exactly. Sometimes people just have to see for themselves. Now, as long as he can admit that you told him first, all is well.

I'm sure he won't until I find an excuse to call him on it. Usually this happens when he calls someone out for contradicting themselves, being hypocritical, or having a double standard, and I say "waitaminnit!"

All I have to say for the first movie is that about half way through I caught myself wraping my hands around an imaginary dual-shock and trying to hit the fire button.

I don't think most people are so much running for their lives as they are running from responsibility like scared rabbits. Now, society as a whole, maybe.

The movie? It's explosions and asskicking. Pure and simple. And I dig Milla. Like the second one better, though. She's more badass, and the asskicking's more fun. And there's genetic fuckery, which I've always found interesting.

Yeah, I meant society. Group running.

I liked the second, except for the part when the Nemesis' heart grew three sizes, that day. Other than that, oh yeah.

Oh, ok, sorta like lemmings off a cliff, except more like down a steep hill and being chased by a speedy flow of lava?

Yes, I would say so.
