Deadsy - [Le Cirque en Rose (Obsolescence)]--- I done Grad'iated, ya'll!
The past two days have been wonderful. My family was great, and they all kept saying how proud of me they were. I'm apparently the first of my generation, on either side, to graduate College. That's.... that's certainly something... My uncle gave me a Chess Set, and $1000, combination of birthday and graduation monies, and my father gave me $200 dollars. My mother made food, and
pallandrome, Kathy,
mr_hinzelmann, Elizabeth,
damnedsaint, Zachary, and Kelly showed up. (Deadsy - [She Likes Big Words]). I forced many foods upon them. It was a damn fine day.
My mother and father raised a toast to me, which is the point at which i learned about my apparent milestone. My father's toast was... A toast by my father, showing off from where, exactly, I obtain my sarcasm, wordplay, and what subtlety i have. It went as follows:
"I just want to thank all of Damien's family and friends, all of you guys, for being here, and showing him so much Support, over the years. Damien has always.... *ahem* Appreciated support, a great deal; needed it more than most. And I know your support means a lot, to him, and so it means a lot to me. Thank you."
Deadsy - [Tom Sawyer (Rush Cover)]--- That's my Dad. Heh.
For those of you who weren't able to make it, you missed a great time, but I understand. For those of you who did make it, thank you, very much. I really do appreciate it, very much.
I finished The Lurker at the Threshold, last night. It was an amazing book. Utterly awesome ending, nicely capturing the utter horror, at the ground of being, that was Truth, for Lovecraft. Pick it up, if you get a chance, if you haven't already. It gives a nice run through of the Names, and Stations of all of the Great Old Ones, and a brief description of the Elder Gods, and their power. That, along with the Call of Cthulhu, makes a wonderful introduction to the Mythos. Dig it, so that it may be duly dug.
I'm pretty much done, now, and I'm tired as all hell. Long, hot day of walking around, in heavy black nylon (or was it rayon?) robes, surrounded by many others, doing the same.
Deadsy - [The Key to Gramercy Park]--- Dream Well, my friends.
I'll see you, in the daylight.

Peter Jennings died, today... Shit.}

WOO.
Date: 2005-08-08 05:16 am (UTC)Your father taught you to be a smartass, in many senses of it. It's endearing. :P
And whatever the fuck they make those out of, it seems to absorb heat more than any other black cloth rightly should.
Re: WOO.
My Dad and my Mom have given me Quite a lot, over the years.
My dad's response, on my asking him where he ran off to, when he disappeared for a few minutes: "*Kind of stares, looks up and down* You sure do ask a lot of questions."
To which i responded: Well, I would hope so; I got my degree in it.
