Snake River Conspiracy - [You and Your Friend]--- I feel old. Two of my former students are highschool seniors, now. Chronologically, this makes perfect sense. Viscerally, i feel old as hell. They were amazed to see me, when i went, today, as were a lot of people. Prodigal, and all... So many people and former classmates....

There's a new mural, in the foyer to the auditorium, and it has a quote, from Lorraine, that i'd never read, before: "Education is empowerment and, therefore, the success of an educational experience is measured in how empowered the recipient believes he or she is." (The Police - [Don't Stand So Close to Me]). That, and the other quote sums up the Horizons mentality, for me. Many may lament that there aren't enough people willing to work for whatever changes they want, but... The potential is still there.

This next part is for alumni, really; people who were there. Sorry if it excludes.

I saw Toby, and Martha, and Les, and Sally, and Imani, and Allison. The latter being the aforementioned students... (Lisa Loeb - [Stay]). Toby is working for the school, now, and is looking for all alumni to register, on the website. I feel so old...

Valerie's old apartment has been made into a lounge for the boarders, and the kitchen has been moved, in there. There's a teacher's room, for office and classroom supplies, and the like, now, where one of the old classrooms used to be. To do that, they had to tear down one of the walls. (Jack Off Jill - [Horrible]). That wall held the mural, done by me,

kitsuchan, and Marjorie... They cut the mural out, framed it, and hung it on the new wall. That's so awesome...

Pain - [Easy Out]--- I'm seriously considering doing some of my teaching, there... I want to make sure kids know... gah... Too many thoughts, in my head. A few new structural things, and hey, class of 2000: The waterfall yet stands. Heh. So fucked up....

I told my sister about it, and told her that, really, the only way she was going to get an idea of the experience would be to experience it. She needs to visit, some day soon, when she has time.
