A whimper...
Aug. 29th, 2004 10:00 pmHellsing - [Divine Act of Satan]-- -That's how i count the party, mostly. A whimper of defeat, with some growls and ragings, of future continuation. (Oingo Boingo - [Just Another Day]). Jennie showed up, which was amazing, as i was almost certain that she was unconsoloably frightened of us. Good to be proven wrong. She found out that she knew
saxshooter,
theone01, and some other people, there. Once again, the webs drew together in ways people less than expected. I love doing that. I drank (a lot). I sang (loudly). I danced (jigs, mainly). So maybe you wonder why i say "A whimper"?
There were... sadnesses. I wanted to take it out in a... for me, traditional manner. I wanted to celebrate what had been, and not mourn what was being lost. It was very quiet and sedate, last night. And that makes me sad. I wanted to send this place off with a blast, a rousing, drunken, crowded Bacchanal, to wake the neighbours, and then invite them in. (Don Henley - [The Boys of Summer (Comorbid Top Down Mix)]). Because i like to celebrate endings and that which went before. I like to note when things pass. And i like to do that, in as joyous a manner as possible. Yeah, i'm sad(ish) that i won't be here, anymore, but it's over, you know? This section is done. Moving on.
lupusfeuer facilitated a lot of the singing and drinking, by making me play the entire album of "Swagger," by Flogging Molly. Irish punk drinking music. And that kind of sums it, i guess...
I had wanted it to be like a Wake, an Irish, Traditional (many trraditions) Wake. Drinking, reminiscing, re-meeting, people finding the place for the first time, or who'd only known by reputation, getting to experience one last bit and bite, before it went under. Instead it was, at too many points for my liking, more akin to a funeral. Ther ewere punkers, and loud goths, and other Great People, but it was not... To my liking. (Carmina Burana - [Stetit Puella]). Oh well.
It is Done.
Soon, there will be a birth, to match the death. A new house (which is ... pretty fucking awesome, by the way), and a new start.
That said, Later.

We'll see. I think dates are mixed up, in certain respects, so we will see when moving is actually supposed to happen.
