I bought an awesome dresser, today. Sixteen-drawer mule chest and dresser, done in oak wood, with a dark coffee veneer (in the back, on the far right). Fucking beautiful. It cost me just over one thousand dollars of my own money. My first major purchase, ever. It is one of the best things i've ever bought, and it will be delivered on the 10th. I also bought a random $35 computer chair, from Wal-Mart, more on that later.

Had a day of minor annoyances, at work. Did, personally, $75 dollars of business, out of two thousand dollars. Dropped a bunch of things, and lost some pins. As i said, minor annoyances, but it got better. Got a sandwich, and a soda, and my bloodsugar level went up, significantly. Was pleased. Then i came home.

I came home and started putting together said $35 Wal-Mart chair. While putting it together, the metal base flew up, and hit me in the face, just above the left side inscissor, causing a deep laceration, requiring a trip to the emergency room, three stitches, and a tetanus shot. Mazel Tov. I originally thought i'd cracked the tooth, down the middle, because i'm paranoid about that kind of thing. When i was four, i fell and deadened a tooth. They didn't do anything about it, because it was a baby tooth. These were my first stiches. Ever.

Anyway, i've got novacaine in my lip, and a sore spot, in my arm, a brand new Awesome dresser. Lessons learned, scales balanced, decissions made. I'm not going to work tomorrow, and i purchased a copy of 1984 (tax free), bcause i didn't own one, and a copy of Low Red Moon, by CaitlĂn R, Kiernan, because i Need It. This was confirmed upon beginning to read. I'm done, now.

Later All.

I'll refrain from saying thats what you get for shopping at Wal-Mart, because you ans I both know that would be mean.

I do hope you feel better and now you have a nifty new scar to impress all the ladies with.

Mrf. Hope your face is ok. And a thousand bucks on a dresser?....Jeebus, love. That thing better perform sexual favours, and then make you breakfast the day after, for a thousand bucks.

My face will be absolutely fine, as long as i take care of me, and let my body do it's insane heal thing.

As for the dresser, i'm not into dresses, that way. :P But i do need the thing... It's so fucking awesome...

Rock-saur on the new dresser, suck-saur on the being hit in the face.

But yeah, that's quite a bit for a dresser. But I'm more than willing to bet the sides won't pull a concave warp thing like my cheapass shelf did. But then, my cheapass shelf is made of particle board.

But I suppose that's what a job is for. Being able to get more than just what's available at Wally World, that is.

Exactly. And i'm looking forward to having my first massively Mine piece of furniture. My choice, my money, my dresser. And if i ever have children, maybe their dresser.

My stupid ass attempted to go to the mall and now I feel like shite and I'm covered in sweat. Due to tax free weekend there were so many people there the entire mall stayed a nice 98.6 basically. A/C was no help. I'm gonna shower for like 5 hours now. Maybe this weekend I'll come up. Gah.

How did you get to be 22years old and never have stiches before now? That is a concept that confuses, and shocks me, but then again one of my earliest memories is of my first flight and the stitches they had to put in my chin. I was 3 or 4 at the time, and have had stiches more times than I remember, and probably not as many as I should have.

I always won my fights, in severe manners, and i've been incredibly resilient, up to this point. I've never had a deep facial laceration, and everything else was on a place where, when i put enough pressure on it, it healed in about three days' time.

Hell, i even fell on my head, once, when i was 3 or 4, from a four foot height. Nothing. Mild concussion, if that.

I'm 23 and I still haven't had stitches. Probably should've, given the time the circuitry bit me, and I could see bone, but I was more scared of getting stitches than of the injury itself so I just disinfected, taped it shut with bandages, and hoped for the best.

I never felt i needed stitches, even when i cut myself to a fat layer, on my arm. And yes i mean that in the "Bad Habit" way.

Paper towels and duct tape.

Facial injuries are another matter, entirely.

This is a concept that I just have trouble grasping. Childhood is full of scraped knees & elbows, stiches, and broken bones. resulting from bike wrecks and the general not thinking ahead that comes form being a kid. I understand that unlike mysel, the current generation isn't required to fish with quarter and half sticks of dynamite to prove that your smart enough to light and then throw, and realize that the sticks float so they have to be weighted or you may sink your boat and get hit with parts of it, that whole shrapnel thing.

As i said, i was an extraordinarily resilient child. I thought my actions through, more often than not, and when i didn't, i sucked it up, and put some disinfectant on it, and went about my way, in some pain.
