Bought the new Auf der Maur album, today. It's really Really good. Lots of musical guests, from other bands. Awesome stuff.

Other than that, i really got nothing for you, right now. Still trying to figure out the best way to turn fractals into music, and vice versa, and then both at the same time, and then use said as conduits into spirituo-mathematical infinity.

I'm a friend of [livejournal.com profile] spearcarrier and just saw you on her Flist.

I would be really interested in such a thing. I'd heard of a program called "Cthuga" that did something involving turning music to graphics, but I was never able to get it to function. I've also played with a program called "FractMus", but didn't manage to get anything interesting out of it fast enough.

Cthuga, soundwave, all of those are... replications and approximations. All i'm talking about is taking the mathematical algorithms, for fractals, and computing them INTO music. Turning the mathematical representations of infinity, into musical representations. And vice versa.

I don't want to match music With sight. That's like an oscilliscope, in particle form. Which is a good first step. It's not as hard as it sounds. It's really just getting a handle on the maths. Enjoy.

I fully agree with you on Cthuga.

I took another look at FractMus (now that my curiosity was piqued), and I thought you might be interested in it. It actually looks more like what you're describing.

I'm intrigued by the fact that this guy has released a CD of his work.

Thank you for that. Very happy stuff, there. Goes in the file. Like i said, the right maths, and the proper intent, get you real far. ^_^

Mmmm. Since I am generally crap at math, and know nothing technical about musical theory....

...there's no real point to this comment. ^_^

Just another reason for me to regain my math skills, love. ^_^
