short version of a long story:
freshman year of high school, doing a lot of study and reading (on my own time) into quantum and theoretical physics. later that year, after meeting one of my few lifelong friends, I started studying and reading up on world religions (raised christian and never before had though much about what else was out there, belief-wise, until he got me going). as I was reading up on buddhism, I was a bit surprised (at the time) to find passages that were almost word for word the same as passages in the physics books I was reading.
a big hole cracked open in my head after that.

Exactly. There's much more, around, too. It's... a wonderful thing.

Talk to people about spirituality and magic, they look at you like a nut. Talk to them about quantum physics, they nod like they know they should be interested in this "Socially Important Topic." Start showing them the interconnections, and watch how fast they try to run away. :)
