Damn Near Every single child in this nation has seen at least two breasts. His or Her Mother's. Janet Jackson's exposure, whether it was intentional, or no, is nothing that shocking, except to this extraordinarily repressed nation. It was kind of humourous, and entertaining, to see the look on her face, and, yes, the initial upset and blowing the whole thing out of proportion was good for some giggles, but you know what? Who cares?

This nation needs, above all else, a more progressive, educational, and open attitude toward sex. A lot of young people do the exact things they do, and get knocked up, because of it, because no one is properly explaining these things, to them. Certain ideas are taboo (certain ones always will be), and, as long as things like sex before marriage, public nudity, &c., are seen as horrid by the overly violent population at large, "rebillious youths" will do them. Flock to them. Search them out.

Fucking think, people. It's simple psychology.

Bah.

Aren't we one of the only nations - if not the only one - that can't (or perhaps just won't?) show nudity on tv? I never quite understood that, myself. It just never made that much sense to me. It's like the whole thing with the FCC deciding that when Bono said "fucking" it was ok.

I suppose it's the whole art/smut thing that confuses me. Someone, somewhere might consider all nudity to be smut, whereas someone else actually understands what the difference is supposed to be. Y'know, in the sense of, say...one man's Venus de Milo might be another man's Paris Hilton sex tape.

But then, judging by most reactions to nudity that I've seen other people have (and that I had when I was younger) I guess it seems a bit sensible.

Yeah, but those reactions, again, are influenced by the way it's taught and handled, in society, and in the individual homes. If, perhaps, they did a better job, then there wouldn't be the Issue.

Yeah. And really, I don't think it could've been any more shocking than when Diana Ross jokingly fondled Li'l Kim's boobie on stage when she wore something similar (but a lot less apocalyptic and a lot more lavender) @ the MTV VMAs, although that was MTV.

Hell, putting them all in perspective, both incidents were actually more shocking than the Britney/Madonna/Christina kiss.

Yeah. I don't find any of them "Shocking," personally. And never would have. More humourous, than anything, as i said. But, hey, dat's me.

The debate over whether we're repressed or over-sexed. Just cause no one's currently disagreeing with you vocally doesnt' make it not a debate.

But either way, I dont' think a change in our attitude towards sex is what this nation needs "above all else." I think food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, better educational systems, scholarships, and crime prevention are all a lot more important than whether or not people want to be puritanical about seeing people's naughty bits. :p

Oh i only meant in This context. As an OVER ALL there are lots of things that need to happen, all at roughly the same time. Hmm.

"The debate over whether we're repressed or over-sexed."

Both. One causes the twisting of the other, otherwise-possibly-a-good-thing state, so there is neither healthy expression, nor healthy restraint and moderation, but obsession on both ends.

I do believe that's the first time I've ever recieved a *glomp* response to anything...ever.

You clearly need to find some new online communities. Not getting your recommended daily allowance of glomp-age can have serious consequences.

you were at least once
with ketchup
which the Dekalb county school system has determined to count as as "vegetable serving."

I don't remember being nude with ketchup. I actually don't remember ketchup ever being On my person. I have several times Ingested this "vegetable serving," but not, to my memory, worn it.

you were only half nude at that point, i think, and you'd had a few

circa 2000, Thanksgivingish, at my place behind Horizons. I think that may have been the boobie-butter incident, but i may be off by a few weeks.

And i thought that the Boobie Butter was not to be discussed, again. Cause the Moo Ate it, later. And that was just gross. Heheheh.

Yeah. Reactions to hippies placed violence as a Given institution, while sexual expression and understanding is completely unacceptable. And we wonder why every other nation's media arts look at us like we're insane.

bah. understanding.
