Today was pretty good. As i said, before, the centring helped, and i've had a fairly decent day of classes, to top it all off. (Tiamat - [Sympathy for the Devil]). I sent off that crap to the state department (not taking that job. Several conflicts, there.), and i had Norse Religions mentioned at me, in passing, in reference to someone else. That was odd, but funny. I think i may like my US History , today, more than i did, on Tuesday. We rambled. A Lot. About the nature of the political climate and revisionist history, and trying to make sure that the phrase "History is Written By the Victors" doesn't remain a truism. That would be nice.
I have to say, i'd really rather that all of you, out there, with the historisch bent, tell it true, and not in the lights of who won. Balance it all, and tell it even, like a Speaker for the Dead. That's the nice dream i have, for things on those lines...
Speaking of balance, got to talk about Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, today, in world religions. That made me very very happy, especially in the explaining of Shiva as not being "Evil," for being the destroyer. (Belly - [Low Red Moon]). I also learned the Sanskrit word "Mara." It means Pure Evil. It was given to the writer of the Ramayana, as a mantra, back when he was a thief (before he wrote the Ramayana), by a monk he tried to rob. The monk told him that all he had was a Mantra, as ascetic monks are generally poor. Running "Mara" together, quickly, as a mantra should run, and you start saying something else. The Good, embedded within the Evil. ^_^
I asked Kenny (the teacher) if he knew of any other cases, in Hindu Tales, where the recitation of something good or evil lead to its opposite; any cases of them flowing into and around each other. He told the entire class that i had just "crossed his line." I asked a question he couldn't answer, and had to be referred to the department specialist on Hinduism, and Judaism. >_< (Cassandra Wilson - [Strange Fruit]). But she's nice enough, and i've had her for a class, so that shouldn't be too bad.
I like my classes, thus far, because we've been learning about things like Syncretism, and things like "Kami." We learned, today, that Kami can be... Anything. Anything with a certain Quality of Otherness. But that the ideals of Kami were more contexually subjective, than they were indivdually subjective. So that was cool.
Sorry for going on and on, at you , about my school stuff... Well, no, i'm not really, but i understand as i might be annoying. It's simply that i'm very excited about the possibilities, for this semester, and the connections, there, to be made, with some effort. (Peter Schilling - [Major Tom]). And I'm trying to make absolutely sure that put forth that effort...
Anyway, that's about all there is, from me, right now. So i'll talk to you all later. Ta.

Some people like to "Ground," reaching out, externally, and anchoring themselves to something. Centring... Fits more, with what i believe.
And thank you. I hope that, at the very least, everyone can find a way to learn from their classes, without too much difficulty, something that helps them, along their way...

As for religion, yes, it's something from a little-known tennet of Damienism. In other words, "Hell" and "No." :)
