Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - [Hookworm]--- To{morrow} is the anniversary of Lorraine's wake. (David Bowie - [Leon Takes Us Outside]). Last Wed. being... Yeah. I don't generally make notes of the passings of things like that. Anniversaries of death, i mean. (Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - [Walking On The Moon]). It occurs to me, now, that i don't know her birthdate. My grandfather's passing happened two years ago, last week. It's December, now, and there isn't so much the chill of frozen decary, that smell like cells crystalizing and breaking, water getting free, and, somehow, keeping the whole looking mostly like itself... Now it's simply cold... The shortest day of the year is in 20 days, and then it's back to the light.

Gin Blossoms - [Found Out About You]--- It's a clean cold, and a safe darness, we have now. And it's something to be... considerate of, i guess. I'm not going to tell you what to appreciate, or anything, but appreciate Something. It's amazing the things we can let slip past us, in the name of change, or letting go. Lessons that were leanred for a reason, and impressions that shaped who we are. Letting go does not mean forgetting...

It's December, now, and the coldest month, for many. The holidays are not a pleasant gathering, and the sound of carrols does not bring joy. Family, friends, presents, all of these things have the potential to drive some mad... But there's the ability to take them, and go forward...

Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo - [Gong Show (1976)]--- Welcome to December, hope you can enjoy it.

Holidays

Am I the only person left in the world who actually enjoys the holidays? Seems to depress everyone else. And for someone who's been more like an orphan most of their life, I've always enjoyed Christmas. While I have no family of my own, I've become part of one now. I've been used to spending holidays alone most of my life because I don't really have any family. Even though I lived in Florida for 8 years and was used to lack of snow for so long, that was when I was younger. And I'll miss having a white Christmas here. I wonder if it's much colder in Atlanta than here...only being a couple hours north, I wouldn't think it would be. I did discover, there is no fall here. The leaves never changed color, they just sorta dried up and fell off. Heh. Come on, ya gotta enjoy all the happy pretty lights don't ya? =P

It's not that i particularly dislike the holidays. I can like them a lot. i was simply remarking that, for some, this season is not the most appealing.

Holidays always make me very sad and very happy.
