wolven7D'redd - [A Faerie's Heart]--- Today, this early afternoon, i was confronted, not for the first time, with something that someone had written, on an advertisement. It was a Biblical verse, from Leviticus. Most of the onese i see,have been, save the ones about the description of Jesus. (KMFDM - [Sucks]). These things kind of get to me, really, because i have to wonder why we take as law, un-examined, and un-revised, something that men, long-dead, said that God told them, thousands of years ago. Not that i'm saying that God Didn't say it, but, rather, that we should, perhaps, Ask It, for it's opinion on those laws, in light of the Times, and the Changing state of things. Heh.
David Bowie - [Algeria Touchshriek]--- I was thinking about the amendments, today, because we were discussing them, in American Government. I was made to be, as i always am, when looking at the ways we fucked ourselves, without lube, and to this day beg for more, angry, at the whole thing. (Crüxshadows - [Marilyn, My Bitterness]). The weakness, the laziness, all of those things that i revile, in the human condition. Those things that Mencken saw when he made that quote about Democracy. I wonder at why these things are so much "Better" for them... Why the want the Rule, but clamour for the illusion of choice. Childish, in it's way... There are better ways to Synthesize.
And, in Film History, we talked about Leni Riefenstahl, and the Nazi Propagnda film she made. "Triumph of the Will." She was labeled a Nazi sympathizer for the work she did, there... If she was, then so is every politician, ever, since then. (MC Chris - [Number One with the Ladies]). All political campaign ads take their cue from "Triumph," as does the State of the Union Address. (Covenant - [One World One Sky]). That's because the work, in the film, was Good Political Filmography. It set standards. Unfortunately it also Happened to propegate the Horrors of Nazism. The same thing can be said of "Birth of a Nation." She also made "Olymiad," which set the stage for how we see the Olympics, today. She was Upset that Hitler and Göbbels didn't want to include the winning, by Jesse Owens, of Four Gold Medals (he was a black man; his victory was in direct opposition to Nazi ideology),and she demanded that they put footage of him, in the film, or she wouldn't do it. (VNV Nation - [Standing (Still)]). The Compromise, reached, was that there would be shots of Owens Running, but not of his winning, nor of his Awards being given. She was still displeased. She was dismissed as head Filmographer for Deutschland, shortly after this, cause hgitler was worried that if she dissented once, she'd continue, and he couldn't have that.
*sigh* Sorry about that. Didn't meant to Dissert and Discourse, there. Simply something that bugs me, when people are unfairly labeled, for the Work they do, when their reasons may have nothing to do with the Content.
A day of reading Sandman, being politically upset, watching Hitler, and doing my laundry. And, also, hanging out with friends, at school. That's always nice.
