You all, for the most part, make me Sick. You're waffling, whinning, moany bitches who say stupid things like voting doesn't do anything for you, and go to protests and rallies, instead of to a class, to learn, so that you can make as informed decissions as possible. You complain that nothing you do matters, when, for the most part, you're not doing anything. You're not talking to people, you're not voting, your're not raising hell, through the channels established so that you May raise hell. We put those there, for a reason. You know, sometimes i think the Fascists had it right.

The people as a whole, don't know what they want. They barely know what they want for Dinner. Let them decide the things that really seem to matter, to them. American Idol. Who marries whom, on national television. So, let the people sit in bliss, and let the Government figure it all out, for them. They don't know if what they want will ever be addressed, or if they'll be forced to march through the streets, wearing each other's feces, as hats, but they don't really get a say, you see? Because they chose to Not have to vote. Chose to not have to Choose. Isn't that spiffy? Isn't that Neat? Isn't that, if you 'd fucking look up, every once in a while, what's about to happen, right the fuck now?

Fuck you all..

As you all know, or should realise, I'm Very upset when people are stupid, and don't do the things that they can Very Easily Do to change the situations, and things in their lives, that they hate. Or with which they are uncomfortable. Because... Well. It should be Obvious, by now.

"I always thought people were essentially bright. Distracted, sure, and weak, and beaten, but never stupid. . . Time was I thought maybe people were Worth... ...I Dunno." - Spider Jerusalem

I'm really politically upset, in a climate where that's not very safe... "Fascism looks great, when i'm at the helm." - Me

"you'd all kill yourselves today."

On a slightly tangential note, I had to work the sound system at a school board meeting tonight and at one point one of the board members mentioned having been at some meeting last night with a group of people who felt left out like it was still 1968. Of course, having had to be at just about every school board meeting for the past five months I know that none of those people have shown up or if so, it has been one or maybe two people and they didn't bother to speak. If they're so fucking upset, they should show up to one of the meetings, which are the same day every month, in the evenings.

And some woman who was there, complained before about it starting late (due to a closed hearing) and that they always do that. She hasn't been to any meeting since April at least, which I know cause I have been there and they have not done that.

Okay, yeah, enough stealing rant space on someone else's journal, but it seemed relevant.

It was about people being stupid, and not changing things, and wondering why things suck. Yeah. It relates.
From: [identity profile] kitsuchan.livejournal.com
Yes, people tend to base political opinions on brief clips from the news, and let it rest at that. It's irritating. But interesting to watch. Anyway, people like to live out the scenes in their heads, of protesting and pretending to be non-conformist, or different, or smarter, or more practical, or braver, or more patriotic. Whether or not those scenes have much to do with reality. I'mnot really sure how to deal with that.

Perhaps Beat them, until they do things that make sense? But what kind of precident would that set?

Thought for today, leaving my first PoliSci class: "I think that should be a Law; If you don't vote, you don't get to bitch." Because we have the ability for change, slow though it maybe. And there are always Other options, if one is not a fan of slow change.
From: [identity profile] kitsuchan.livejournal.com
Yes, bad precendent. Ditto, sadly, for the law, as whining is pretty clearly covered under the first amendment. If we could find a way to make not voting as embarassing as not taking regular showers or something, that would be good, I think.
From: [identity profile] wolven.livejournal.com
See.. i don't really CARE, though, if people Don't Vote. That's fine with me. What i care about is when people Don't Vote, and then bitch about the state of the world in which they live. Come on, there Are Systems set up to change things... They may Suck, but the thing about Change is that you can Direct it towad what yu Want the Systems to be, if you get enough people, behind it. Don't Vote, all you want. Not my issue. Just don't talk to me about your displeasure, if you don't vote, or work towards changing the system, in Some way that will actually make a difference for your cause.
From: [identity profile] kitsuchan.livejournal.com
Well, yes, I know it's the complaining you care about. But face it, someone whining that they smell funny because it's too much work to take a bath will be given strange looks and sidled away from. So if a similar stigma was attached to not voting, people'd be too embarrassed to admit it, and thus we can hope they'd quit complaining.
From: [identity profile] wolven.livejournal.com
Perhaps, yes.. But i doubt it... I think that, for a while at least, there would be a reaction of "Yeah, I really know what you mean. I Don't Shower either, and man, i hate the smell."

:\ People are.. really Frustrating, sometimes.
From: [identity profile] kitsuchan.livejournal.com
Probably true. So I guess we return to what parents tend to say "ignore them, maybe they'll go away." Not that it ever worked, mind you, but it's worth a try, I guess.
From: [identity profile] wolven.livejournal.com
I'm not going to Ignore them. I'm going to talk at them, until they start to listen. Then i'll talk To them. Then With Them.
From: [identity profile] kitsuchan.livejournal.com
Okay. Counting to ten usually makes children listen.
