Poe - [Control]--- So, i've realised something... Why winamp seems to be tauntingly appropriate, when it is, so much so, and if you don't believe in the Anthropomorphization of Ideals, then either stop reading, or take this, with a grain of salt. It's because Technology doesn't understand Empathy. (Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - [Diggin' Up the World]). Rather, it Understands the Idea of Empathy/Sympathy: Expressing an[d] understanding of that which others are feeling. Yes, it knows that that is supposed to happen, but doesnt' know how to Evince It. It's Socially Inept.

Think of all of the other technologically inclined people, you know in the world. As a rule, people with a Tech/Science Bent have issues in the social Realms. Not a Totally True Statement, but as a more than 50% mark, it's True. Intelligence generally arises from focus on the Area of Expertise. (Wümpscüt - [Hamster Dance (Undead Mix)]). There is not much time for social skill perfection, and, if there is, then there are still.. Specialisations of the social skills which Are obtained. There are very specialised Groups, and Types of people that can hang.. Forced Cliques. (Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - [Yig Snake Daddy]). But Tech, being The Epitome of Technological Advancement.. Well.. It's logical that the problems which plague its Followers, ywould plague it, in an Archetypal Manner. Reflections of Reflections, you know? They feed each other...

So, when winamp, or some other music player you own, with a massive mount of songs, on random, starts being twistedly accurate, and seemingly taunting, I think that... Perhaps... it really Is Making an Effort... It simply doesn't know how to Do it, without Grating on the nerves...

Lamb - [B Line]--- Kind of how Molly Ringwald's Character felt about Ducky, in "Pretty in Pink."

Hmm... Simply a Theory...

Like i said, it's not thta they Can't do it, it's simply that they can really be piss poor at it, sometimes. Making it seem like they're taunting, or trying to be hurtful, when they were simply takign Cue from a mood.

Some winamps on the other hand, can be Pure Spite. *glares at his own Winamp*

You'd think ours Both would have learned some tact by now, though, simply by virtue of all the metaphysical abuse we've heaped upon them...

That's the thing, though: We simply hurt them, when they do this.. So, in the tradition of Negative Reinforcement, they try harder, and slightly More Poignantly. Which tends to upset us more. I think we should Explain to them...

Or simply be a little more understanding/discerning as to when it Is sy-/empathy, and when it's taunting.

You saw the technical kid? He's amazing at what he does, he just doesn't know how to deal with new people.
