i want to talk about something for which there isno name. There are two separate names for the pieces, but, in this case especially, the whole is a great deal more than the sum of its parts. The two names are Collective (See "Hive Mind) and Individuality. Two things which aren't placed together, by many. Those of you who read this know me, on varying levels, but if you want to Know Me, you'll need to understand that which i think about, daily. i think about it when i see my friends fight; when i look at any media and see news on the "war;" when i hear the word "wrong," spoken of anyone's beliefs. This may take a while. Let's get started.

Yesterday, i made brief mention of The Abyss. A bit more on this, now. In that writhing mass of life, there is separateness-- each thing there is its own-- but there is also collectveness. In this place, things are far simpler than here, but that doesn't mean we can't learn therefrom. Firstly: this understand each other, there. Every Thing, there, realises that it, and therefore everything else, has to eat. They will, of course, strive Not to get eaten, but they won't hold a grudge, if they are. Think about that.

There was a matter of Life and Death, for fuck's sake. We can't be that understanding with shit that isn't even Our Monkey. We, as humans, are killing each other, not to eat, but over matters of beliefs. Are we really that threatened, feral, rabid, and Scared to acknowlegde something different from our set?

A belief is an idea. It's me saying, "This is how i think the world works." Beliefs don't need to be points of contention. You all have no Idea how happy/empty ("What win i if i gain the thing i seek...") it would make me to see that people had gotten themselves to the point where they could say "This is what I believe. What do you believe?"

"Well I believe blah. That, in turn, entails blah, blah, and blah."

"I understand and respect all of those beliefs and I (dis)agree, except for blah."

That's a calm, collected Exchange of Ideas. There's no need for yelling or screaming that the other person is wrong/a liar/a heretic/blasphemous. I disagree with lots and lots of people, and i don't need to scream my Right to the heavens. Only my Want. If i want people to Think before they act, and to UNDERSTAND before condemning someone, for the love of crackmonkeys!!!.... is that really so bad? To want to see every action taken from a realm of understanding of the other party/ies involved... Know Thyself.

Know Thy Enemy. Know Thy Enemy As Thou Wouldst Know Thyself. If you'd ratherbe ignorant of your own motivations, and the Universe you've created for yourself, ignore it all. Ignor-ance is bliss, after all. But if you'd like to know, understand, and have a constant handle on all of your surroudnings... Well, give it a shot. You might enjoy it.

Now, i know i went off from my Abyss analogy, but think of it like this: Billions of things, in a fairly small space, for their number. Each one has it's own needs, beliefs, and points of disagreement. They kill each other over them, regularly. Now, throw them the means with which to understand each other, as well as possible. The why's and the wherefore's. There's still disagreement... bu maybe not so much Killing, over it. Isn't that a cool thought?

*shrug* i thought it was cool. Good Nytes. Good Days. Dream Well

don't be too cynical

plenty of us are respectful of others' beliefs and many many of us DO want to hear others' beliefs.

Life is boring if all I ever cogitate is my own thoughts. No movement there.

The real fear is change. So sad.

Interesting point...

Too bad the morons you talk about are the most visible and vocal. I've met plenty of people that won't judge, but because they are the way they are, they don't feel the need to proclaim such at the top of their lungs.

Stories, and Knowing one-self

Like I said and wolven states earlier. When you have a belief you are believeng a something. In essence you are beleiveing a story. And also in theREalm of stor all stories are true. So that being said the only REAL differance between the stories people believein is the truth value of the stories in THIS realm. Now as yo look at stories you compare them and analyize the lenses through which they were veiwed. You may start to realize that te stories have some similarities. This is a good thing to keep in mind wheever talking to anyone The stories we believe in are not justabout relgion, it's manners, truth, justice.

nd as to what wolven said about know thy enemy. I'm goning o speak on the other end of things. Know thself. You can no hope t understan anone else until you have a firm grasp on yourself. And even if you can understand others then if you have no grap on your self then you can have no basis of contintion because the points you will argue will be mimiced from other people head's you;ve seen and non of it will have your filter on it and all you are is a human SoundWave transformer and are not USeLESS but you culd be oing so much more.

Been thre done that.
