Judaism Makes me Smile.
Jan. 21st, 2003 11:01 pmOhGr - [Chaos]--- Learned/remembered an interesting bit of Rabbinic Law, today. During Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New year, kicking off the Ten High Holy Days, ending in Yom Kipur), you are meant to ask forgiveness, of people, for the wrongs you've done them, during the past year. If they do not forgive you, you ask again, the next day. If they don't forgive you, then, you ask the next day. If they don't forgive you, after that, then it's no longer Your problem. You've tried to make amends. At that point, it is between that person, and their god, whatever that may be. (Deadsy - [Flowing Glower]). You can ask more than a day after, but it should be done, before the new year starts. Now, i find this interesting, for many reasons.
First off, i don't really care about doing it During Rosh Hashanah-- you should do it, whenever it occurs to you, in my book, but that's me-- What i like is the Three Times Rule. "Something I Tell You Three Times Is True." If i say, to you, Three Bloody Times, that i'm sorry for something, or that i miss you, or that i want to see you more, or that WHATEVER, Then Dear Gods, i'm PROBABLY Serious! Granted, those are different connotations-- Maybe-- but if you don't believe me, that's kind of Fucked up.
Group X - [I Just Want (Bang Bang Bang)]--- Honestly, all i wanted to bring that to the attention of all, in the audience. Use it as you will. Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. *Smiles*
