- How do the Jeweled Net of Indra and the concept of Brahman relate to one another? How do the concepts of atman, Atman, Brahman, jiva, and the Five Skandhas fit in?
- Define or outline both Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” and the Hindu concept of Maya. How do they relate to each other? Consider the levels of society in The Republic, and the caste system in Hinduism.
- Define and contrast Cartesian Mind-Body Dualism and Functionalism, both in terms of identifying minds and determining how we gain knowledge.
- What are the Four Assumptions, as Identified by Feminist Epistemologists? What are their arguments against said assumptions?
- Describe the purpose and content of the Kantian Compromise. Does it succeed? Why or Why not?
- Describe one of both of the following as you have experienced them, in the course of this class: An Ontological Shock; an Epistemic Threat.
