Dreamed that [livejournal.com profile] mech_angel and I were in a production of Cats, put on by a college art/gardening/theater class.

Before that, somemthing about searching for fun things to do, and ending up at the Playboy Mansion, and bluffing our way in. It became the size of a mall, and then my uncle was there, and we had to beat the shit out of this giant football player, who kept trying to start shit with us, when my uncle had had a bad day. My uncle punched him, once, and he was down. He waited for the football player to wake up, hogtied him, and then he was lifting him up, with one hand, over the three floor drop. I told my uncle not to drop him, and to toss him onto the landing directly below. He was suddenly on the bottom floor, tossing the guy Up, onto the landing. Then security showed up...

Something else about comics, and a Spider-Man/Grendel crossover.

House of Leaves, before bed, last night. Good times.

Read the following: Doing Without Concepts Workshop Program.

Now tell me what's wrong with that program and book's method of approach.

I'll give a hint: It unselfconsciously employs circular/recursive logic to prove itself, leaving it open to an attack that it wouldn't be willing to swallow, if presented.

Damn it, people. Pay Attention.

I just sent Thank-You Letters to both Drs. Robert Almeder and Douglas Hofstadter, for their help and inspiration in my thesis.

I also expressed the following sentiment, to both: "I also understand that we are not always comfortable with the association of those who claim to have been inspired by us and, if that is the case, in this instance, I am truly sorry."

I mean, Nietzsche wouldn't have been exactly Thrilled to know that he inspired Hitler.

Also recommeded, again, that Hofstadter read House of Leaves. The recursion of him not knowing it existed, when I told him about it, struck me, again, today, re-reading the introduction. Too good to pass up.

There. I felt like I needed to do that; to say thank you and let them know.

I need to go get ready for work, now.
