Akira - [Kaneda]--- I bought "The Exorcist," today. Because i didn't own it.

Math is done. That is all.

Good Night.

If you are of legal age, a US citizen, and here, now, i will, personally, stab you in the kidneys and have rabid Rottweilers fuck the holes, if you do not vote, by the end of the day, today. Are we understood?

I dont' know when i'll get around to it, or how. But i will.

Have a nice day.

A Perfect Circle - [Pet]--- Think about how many people say "It doesn't matter if i vote, because X." Now, actually Think about that Number. Now, think about the 2000 election, which was decided by 500 votes. It Fucking Matters, so Fucking Vote, assholes. And, again, if you don't vote, i don't ever want to hear you bitch about policy.

In other news, why am I an idiot? Why did i decide to pay attention to a nebulous ultimatum, from the universe, and quit smoking, the weekend before a very stressful election? God, i'm dumb....

To those of you who didn't vote, tonight: Hope you like dogs.

My CompSci class was cancelled, today. Guy never showed. Which is good, as i didn't go, anyway. (Sneaker Pimps& Portishead - [Water]). Heh. My math test was fairly easy, and i got done, exactly at the end of class. I feel ok, about it.

I'm off for more worrying. Ta.

{9.27pm: God Lives Underwater - [Vapors]--- Also, voting took like 2 minutes. Place was a ghost town. Early voting worked out well.. I Hope.

I watched "The Exorcist," tonight. Extended. Made with the very happy. Ta.}

Soft Cell - [Tainted Love (Full Version)]--- I want to break someone, and burn down things, rebuild them better, and start again. I want to hurt everything that comes across my path, because i love it all so much. I want to quote more Warren Ellis, and Transmetropolitan, at you, and you know, whatever. I've done that. You'll do... you've done what you think is right. It's done. All that's left is to count the ballots.

One way or another, i'm having a cigarette, at the end of the night. The only difference will be the intent.

I started re-reading 1984, today. Scary.

I'm off.

In the days when there were many more dense population centres, and scattered people, and the scattered people outnumbered the dense population centres, sure, the electoral college was a great thing, and kept everthing "honest" (read: "as honest as you can get, in politics."). But, now, we're diverse, dispersed, grouped, spread evenly, like a near-perfect peanut butter and honey sandwich. If we informed people better, if we made knwoing the issues a pre-requisite, for voting, if we made voting madataory, if if if... then we could totally do away with the electoral college. But people are fucking lazy, in all the places that matter.

People don't want to be informed, when they can elect someone to be informed for them, they don't want to research, when they can have sound bytes, they don't want to think, when they can simply Not. So... I want people to want to know, think, do. Think of the Children. As i said, i'm re-reading 1984, and it's fucking chilling. "War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength." Doublethink, Newspeak ("Newsweek, nevermind"). It's harsh, but truer and truer. Some of us want to teach, for a reason.

I've a few quotes, in mind: "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin

"Democracy is the theory that holds that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard." - H.L. Mencken

Things said by people who became famous, because they were smart. Things to keep in mind.
