Serious talk time, folks.

I have the hardest time getting work for school (grading, etc) done in my house. I haven't tried the new dinig room tabel, yet, and I Will, to see how it fares, but on the whole, I get distracted at home. I need something else, some other environment than the couch, with all of its relaxation resonance of TV and Movies and Drinks and Friends and Conversations, to help keep me focused.

I am taking suggestions for places to go to work. Please keep in mind that the nearest coffee shop to me is the only job from which I have ever been unwillingly terminated, so that's pretty much out.

Thoughts, suggestions, etc, all acceptable, even and especially if they're mostly suggestions as to how to get work done at home.

*lets her profession show* Do you have a local library, or library at the University you work at? I've had a lot of luck, when I have a project, just snagging a table, putting in my headphones and working. They're generally fairly quiet and have lots of space to spread out!

I'm seconding this suggestion. GPC's Clarkston campus has a lovely library in which I've quite successfully tutored people in math.

Don't know whether there are any near to you, but how do you resonate with outdoors? It's temporary with winter coming, but sometimes parks with tables are good for that.
