Shit I'm Tired Of:
Aug. 2nd, 2012 12:32 pm1) Moving.
2) Any intimation that, as human beings, we can't move beyond, through, and within the contexts into which we were born, ultimately connecting those contexts into a tapestry which acknowledges and respects that full tapestry.
Guster - [Barrel of a Gun]--- This includes telling anyone of any creed, gender, race, ethnicity, blah blah b lah diftahrtw[edfsd fasdfWHATEVER telling ANYONE ELSE containing ANY VARIATION OR COMBINATION OF THOSE CHARACTERISTICS who tries to genuinely, honestly, and in good faith engage a context different from their own that they "can't because they're part of the problem." (David Carradine/Julie Dreyfus/Uma Thurman - [You're My Wicked Life]). Because that's what it comes down to. Some people are genuine allies, or are trying to be; excluding them from the conversation only makes the exclusion, antagonism, and dichotomy worse.
Violent Femmes - [Please Do Not Go]--- 3) People claiming that they're genuinely, honestly, and in good faith trying to engage a context different from their own, but who then use that as an excuse to say that your voice counts for more than the people whose context they're trying to engage. That being, those people who live that context, every single day.
You're making everyone look bad, and you're making genuine discussion and understanding even more difficult than it already is.
4) Moving.
5) People who refuse to see that, eventually, someone from outside of your context may have a solution to problems you face, which you cannot see, because you are too mired in your own context.
Black Box Recorder - [Girls Guide for the Modern Diva]--- A shift in perspective will always be necessary in order to break through intractable problems; sometimes that shift is Whitey making a suggestion.
6) People who aren't vain enough to think this song is about them.
7) Moving.
8) Yours.
9) Mine.
10) Moving.
This has been a non-exhaustive list of Shit I'm Tired Of. (Billy West and the Grief Counselors - [Haunted Sand Castle]). We now return you to your regularly scheduled counterproductive bullshit, already in progress.
