Live - [The Dolphins Cry]--- I'm looking into accepting Donations to fund my trip, because, as I've said: I need money. I need money for travel to England, for paying US Passport fees, for conference dues. I need Money, in a big way, and I need it really soon.
Oingo Boingo - [Gratitude]--- So, fact of the matter is, I'm angling away from kickstarter, because I'm not going to spend a lot of time telling you why you should have a vested interest in my going to England and Presenting at a conference, and saying it in just such a way that you'll have an interest in what I want to be doing. I'm not up for it, and you won't go in for it.
I don't have any rewards to offer which will in any way be connected to what I'm able to do with the money you give me. I don't have any single "thing" that I'll be making, with these funds-- nothing tangible, at any rate. And so, Kickstarter and IndieGoGo seem not to be the answer.
That all being said, I'm thinking of setting up a Donation Button, with Paypal, but their rates are 2.9% + $0.30 USD for all donations $0.00 USD to $3,000.00 USD. (Warren Zevon - [Sacrificial Lambs]). What that works out to is a fee of $3.20 USD on a $100.00 USD sale.
That seems... a little steep, and so I'm asking you: With things being as I've stated them, do you know of a better (still-reputable) donation go-between?
Any and all help appreciated, and sooner is most certainly better, folks.
Thanks.
