OhGr - [Chaos]--- I'm re/Reading "The Illuminatus Trilogy." The odd syntactical structure because i started reading it, in the 11th grade, but never finished it. Plus i can't seem to get my hands on a book copy of "Silence of the Lambs." I'm a little miffed, about that. I'm sure i'll obtain it soon, though, one way or another. (Luxt - [Witchhunt]). Christmas/Yule/Kwanzaa/Chanukkah/Solstice/Ramadan being the season for miracles, and all... Hmm.

I don't know how many of you have read David Hume's "Against Miracles," but it's pretty fucked up. He states that Miracles are "A transgression of a Law of Nature by particular volition of the Deity, or by the interposition of some invisible agent." (Tool - [Undertow]). He then goes on to say that, even if something Seems to be a Miracle, it is, most likely, simply the Action of a Natural Law that we do not yet understand. We cannot trust the Testimony of other, over our own senses, and our sense will never show us anything violating a natural law, because they operate Upon natural law, therefore, we have no stable Right to believe in Miracles. (OhGr - [Kettle]). That's kind of circular logic, there, but it's True. There is no Evidence of the Senses that says that we should Believe, but there is a central disagreement, here: Why are we relegated to using Hume's definition of a Miracle?

That's only one of the many problems i have with the argument. The others include believing not being the same as Knowing, and the article of Faith, if you're going to say that you have Faith, to begin with. Skeptics and believers, all, we have the various ways we go about our lives, and trying to understand those things, around us. (OhGr - [Water]). We say we believe, but only with proof, or we say that we can't have proof if we are going to Believe, or we say that they should be Separate, totally, or that there is a better way to integrate them all, and that, of course, We have the answers. We have Questions. And we're looking for the answers To those questions. We take the answers that match, in us, and make us feel Right, and Good. And Quality is Just(ly) Whatever You Like. It's a wonderful thing to be brought back to first principles, the further you try to go, into the world. It's absolutely amazing.

I wonder, sometimes, if the things i think are actually true. I try to look at things from all perspectives, and realise that they are all there, within me, so it shouldn't be too Hard. But it is hard. It's weird to have more than one perspective on the Issues, because that's not the way this place is meant to Work... (OhGr - [Lusid]). We're meant to Choose. We pick the things we like, and the ways we want to look at things, and then we go, that way, until we get to everything, a bit at a time. We're not meant to take it all, at once, and try to fit it all in, and make it work. It causes us nothing but problems... I mean, Look at Us. We're a fractured, spiraled, undefined, inhibited, free, determined, masochistic Mess. The things we want are not the things we strive for the hardest.. Because our subconscious works twice as hard. We say we want to integrate ourselves, and then we're afraid of what we find there? (OhGr - [Ode to Groovy]). That makes sense... Sarcastically and not. So, we keep on moving, and we do things, and we make things happen, and the things we don't want to allow ourselves to want get the better of us, and we trip, stumble and fall.

Tool - [Prison Sex]--- "And there he goes! Off on those More-Integrated-Than-Thou Tangents, again! And Where will it get him, this time, ladies and gentlemen? Why, where it always gets him: Over by the fence, contemplating the grass, while the rest of them pass him by, leave him in the dust, and look at him, pityingly and quizzically, over their collective shoulders. It's a sad, sad race, today, ladies and gentlemen... He May get taken to the glue factories..."

Later.

'Ride the Spiral to the end, we may just go where no one's been'...I love Maynard for making things so simple AND complex at the same time. We are Perfect in this imperfection though. All the flaws we hold fit with the strengths, and spiraldance with them in balance and perfection.

I know... or i try to know... It gerts difficult to hold onto it... i meant to add that i'd prefer this to anything other... And it's true. This is the way i'd rather be.

Hopefully, i'll be able to ride it, and find a solution.

Thank you *hugs*

MAster of Puppets, as per usual. We all pull our own strings, each others', and everyone's. Then we complain that someone else is doing it. Our little marionettes are so entangled, we'll never get them undone... Another question is, should we try?

That there Is. You make the most succinct and important points. Has anyone ever told you that?
