No, it depends on the AMOUNT you put into it. As long as it's not 9000 repeats, then it can still be useful.

Or, hell, if you read The Invisibles, there's a way to do it With repeats...

Currently {}. I could make something for the CD collection, but it'd be an exercise in data entry and :P.
Could also make it work by letting the interwebs pick for me, but that still depends on where I go; the lonely hearts station has 1000 songs, but they're all breakup songs.

Have you The Invisibles? Is this something I should read? And if so, could I borrow it?

Some stations (currently on "80s alternative") being more varied than others, of course, and there's the method you mentioned about how to read repeats...
