I start teaching at a university, today

Some things i keep reminding myself:

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

And:

Don't misjudge your audience. If the room is dead, then it's either your material or your delivery. Breathe, Relax, and change up your style a little.

If that doesn't work, take a hard swerve toward new material.

Finally, and most importantly, I have a brand new blue pinstripe suit, and I know how to talk to people.

All will be well.

Time for a shower, and so forth.
