Jobs, Money, Consulting
Nov. 18th, 2011 07:42 pmFirst, the Good News: Come Spring Semester, I'll now be teaching three sections of "Ways of Knowing," at Kennesaw State University! Hooray!
Second: This is good, because I have need of money. A rather great deal of it, in fact. You see, I'm in the process of applying to PhD programs, and those applications? They ain't free.
Here's the breakdown:
Rice: PhD Gnosticism (and possibly Mysticism?)
http://reli.rice.edu/Content.aspx?id=268
App Fee: $75 per
Deadline: January 15.
GSU: Psychology (CogSci)
http://www.cas.gsu.edu/grad_admission.html
App Fee: $50
Deadline: December 1 (Very Close One)
The New School: 1) Philosophy 2) Psychology
https://apply.embark.com/grad/NewSchool/SocialResearch/31/
App Fee: $50 per
Deadline: January 15.
Portland State University: Systems Sciences (Systems Theory)
http://www.pdx.edu/sysc/
App Fee: $50
Deadline: April 1
(This is the least likely, because it requires a science and math background that I simply don't have, yet.)
In addition to this $225 total (low-end, assuming I only apply to one of each of the ones with multiple programs; $350 if I apply to all of them), there's the $160 GRE registration fee I just paid (January 4th is my Test Date). So. That's $385/$510, total.
Which is all to say, again, that I need money. To that end, I am offering the following consultation, research, and facilitation services at rates as low as $15 an hour:
Business Research: Prior Art, patent investigation, Documentation, Citation verification.
PR and Marketing Strategy Consultation: Advertising; Perception Management; Leveraging of Resources; Twitter, Facebook, G+, and other Social Media management.
Philosophical Consulting: Ethical, Ontological, Metaphysical, etc; conceptual and perceptual planning and stimulation.
As I've said before, I can also design magical systems for world building, research extant magical systems for reference, and provide insight onto magical thought.
Usually, I'm willing to do all of these things for free, and for the sheer fun of it, but right now? Well, I'm a little light on cash, as you may have heard. So this is a friends and family DEEP DISCOUNT rate, we're looking at, here. The lowest i've ever charged for these services. I'm reticent to go into a "tell your friends" mode, on this one, but if you're willing to vouch for the professionalism and integrity of the person in question, I'll give it a go.
So, if you're interested, do the math for how long you think the project will take, what all might be involved, and how detailed you want to get, and we'll start talking. Let me know.
