My birthday is in 10 days

All I really want for my birthday is a well-paying teaching position with a minimum of intra-office political bullshit, where I can talk and teach about cyborgs, occult theory, religious studies, and philosophy, all the time. All the time.

Is that really so much to ask? I mean, really?

I mean, I've co-organized three conferences (International Society for Research on Emotions, 2006; Comics and Popular Arts Academic Conference[CPAAC] at Dragon*Con, 2010 & 2011), presented at three-hopefully-soon-to-be-four (CPAAC 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011), and I'm soon to be published by an international press. And I'm about to turn 29. I'm a fucking goldmine of professional prowess and capability, you know? I'm awesome.

But, in the end, any well-paying teaching position would be a fantastic birthday present.

no idea how well they'll pay but I've applications in at both GSU and Spelman.

I'm sure it exists, but it requires tenure track faculty positions, and not Visiting/Adjunct Instructor Positions. The former is something I can't get, without people being convinced that I have a PhD.

The alternatives are said adjunct positions. Also, going back to school, which isn't just an alternative, but is also a means to an end. Problem with the latter option is the money needed to retake the GRE and apply out.

As for shadiness, that potential's always there, but, in this instance, it's much more hassle than taking the highroad. Which is weird.

Anyway, if you want to throw some bolstering intent my way, I'll not say no.
