About Syfy's Being Human Remake
Dec. 24th, 2010 03:24 pmI'm looking for the creative team for the remake for Syfy's Being Human. I'm talking producers, writers, etc.
I'd like to know what else they've done, and where their heads are, about these things.
There's nothing on the site, or the IMDB or Wikipedia pages, so... Yeah. Any help would be appreciated.

Date: 2010-12-25 06:49 am (UTC)And with Jeremy Carver on board, I'm now just fucking mystified as to Why this happened, rather than him doing a Different Thing. He's a fucking funny, creative individual, you know? So why not make a new show? Why remake a perfectly good existing property?
Honestly, I blame "The Office."
I just... I'm mystified. Perplexed, even.

Honestly, the only one I can think of is the "Peedo" ('only has one "e"') scene, and the context of that episode should make it damn clear what's happening, there.
And the only thing I see as changed, so far is A) Names, B) Location, and C) The vampire looks like he escaped from a certain sparkly family, in the pacific northwest, if you catch my meaning.

Date: 2010-12-25 08:54 pm (UTC)He did it for the same reason anyone involved in television does anything - for the money. Why did the guys who developed Caprica let the BSG crap get shoehorned into their initial pitch? Because they wanted to get their shit on the air.
And it's not an existing property in the US. British Shows are unsellable on mainstream US TV in their original format. So they remake them. There's no mystery to any of this.
