October was full of bullshit, and November cannot be the same. I will not have it.

To that end, I want you to tell me something that has made you Really Happy this week. Something that made you Ecstatic and fulfilled, and happy to be a part of this world. I don't care if you think I've seen it, I don't care what or where it is, but something that made you glad to be alive. Tell me, show me.

If you don't have something, yet, I hope that you can make that change, soon.

Go.

i dont know about fulfilled and part of the world, but whenever i read a really good fanfic i end up feeling really happy. so there's that.

plus, while i am a little disappointed in not being pregnant, i'm simultaneously super thrilled to not be pregnant.

we're going to hang out and watch The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and that's bound to inspire feelings of connectedness and happiness, and so i look forward to that.

I'm really looking forward to the movie, too. It's going to be great!

I got and idea, did a large outline and started working on a Thing. It makes me very happy to have that energy back.

Plus, I have a large Vietnamese iced coffee.

One of my students said he wanted to retake the second half of the world history survey when I teach it next, because of how much he liked my teaching approach and style.

I realized I was dreading and flailing about my Really Important Novel because the second have was Really Very Broken -- and then after a a friend fortuitously asking how it was going and doing some brain storming, I fixed it. All in a 24 hour period. \o/

HOORAY! Glad you got it fixed and moving again!

I get to meet Cherie Priest this weekend.
I found an amazing Willow Creek Jasper cabochon I'd forgotten I had (it was very safe in a bead box under beads) and made the bezel for it last night in class.
I got some gorgeous yarn.
One of the poll-workers where I vote remembers me from my salsa-dancing days over 10 years ago.

Haven't gotten together in person yet - day job for me and signings/con stuff for her. She's having dinner with Sarah Monette this evening though, so they'll have a good time. I've been corresponding with Cherie for a bit - I made her some jewelry and since she's in town for www.teslacon.org (which looks super-fun and I can't go) I can give it to her in person AND give her something to take back to Kat Richardson too :) Anyway, she's delightful to communicate with.
I'm also going to get her a little sample of this garlic cheese a local guy makes - grows his own garlic too - he's VERY good at his work!
Rocks! Yarn! and kitteh help in balling up the hanks...... doesn't make for quick work, but does make for a lot of fun:)
I also made a bezel for a small piece of what is being called phantom quartz - it's included and interesting. I also take tremendous joy in using the torches - the WHUMP of the lighting etc

Sorry, I read "get" as "Got." But now that the weekend's over: What was she like? :)

And yes, torches are pretty great, all around.

she's utterly delightful! very down-to-earth and personable - has a lot of great stories. Sarah also came and it was good to see her again. it was a fun signing/chat - a handful of us standing around asking questions and sharing stories etc. this one kid wrote a paper on Boneshaker and gave her a copy - totally made her night:)
i sent you a pic of the quartz - isn't it cool??

and now there's a sad - work tomorrow and the silly time change - ok, more sad about the work part than the time change part especially as i only have about 5 hours of vacation left until january.

a good weekend all the way around:)

I was sad, yesterday, on account of my godmother dying. So I decided that I would have exactly what I wanted for lunch, and exactly what I wanted was lemon mousse. on the third bite, I discovered that the center of my very very good lemon mousse was a very perfect cocoa ganache.

Additionally, my very good friend that I do not see enough of is giving me the ukulele she has grown out of, so that I can take it up.

Tomorrow, I am going on a motorcycle ride in Pacifica.

Those are all me-things, but I am having a very me-week.

If you like pop-punk, look up Peelander-Z. They do the best live show I have seen in pretty much ever.

From: [identity profile] wolven.livejournal.com
When something like that happens, you maybe need a Me-Week. People understand.

And I do know Peelander-Z. They're pretty great :)

I am not much of a me-week person. People may understand, but I don't really.

And I can't think of anything cooler than giant squid limbo, unless it is giant squid bowling.

Oh! And In Treatment started up again. I reallyreallyreally love that show.

It is the entire reason that I decided that maybe going to therapy would be an okay thing after all. I'd had a bad experience with a therapist, but I found a really awesome one who got me through my mess last year. That's pretty good tv, I guess.

This (http://nerdyapplebottom.com/2010/11/02/my-son-is-gay/).

That my dreams seems to have some kind of substance to them this week.

The piece I started last night, that looks like it will be more than the many other abortive attempts at personal pieces on the computer.

My costume from Sunday.

Some things in my head beginning to settle into place, and others being shifted and cracked aside (Y HALLO THAR ability to not care what others think, where have you been all my life?), and still others running at that level of terrifying-but-amazing that you just kind of have to ride out.

Chicken and stars soup. That stuff makes me inordinately happy.

My partner finally said that he supports me in my running, because he now recognizes that it makes me healthy and happy (rather than him only noticing when it makes me tired, when making time to run only seems to make me more stressed, and so on). He wants to meet me at the finish line of the half-marathon I'm running tomorrow, and maybe train with me for the next one.

I'm thrilled beyond words that he finally realized how much this means to me.

That is really, really great. Communicating and reaching that level of understanding as to the importance of these things to each of you, is really wonderful. I hope it continues just as well, if not better :)

You're reminding me of stuffs, but:
Pre-drawing D&D map, so tonight all I need to do is slide a sheet rather than sketch.
And in that vein, I'm injecting the printed adventure with a lot more flavor than it previously had. I think my players appreciate it.
Pumpkin eggnog with pumpkin pie spice.
Getting a shy smile from that girl around the corner.
Date! Unexpected hug!
Concurrence in getting a ridiculous schedule to somehow work over "the holidays".
Game night tomorrow.
Boss sent a budget justification downstairs, it's now in the hands of the director. I think he likes my work, so... so close I can taste it...
Repeatedly checking everything off my list.
Being "on". +5 Charisma, at least.
1.6 miles with 5-lb hand weights.
Rain. We needed it.
... yeah, I love my life.

Well, I was chosen as one of 8 people in the country to be part of an apprenticeship through the Illinois State Library, I didn't have to pay for lunch twice this week, and you, sir, reminded me of one of my favorite short stories. My little brother turned 31 this week and soon I will be an uncle. Oh and I won a free latte at a locally owned coffee shop.

And for added weirdness, someone asked me to write my autobiography.

Life is good

1) Mimosa is feeling immensely better after Vance researched and found her a great new kind of health food that is easier on her aged kidneys. She's vibrant and sassy and talkative, just like she used to be :)

2) V is for Vance. This might seem to be a constant, but I'm thankful every day that he is in my life. I can't even begin to voice my gratitude to the Universe on this count - neverending. :D

3)Also, we finally found my favorite tulips (Queen of the Night), good specimens at a good price.

I "proposed" to my boyfriend and he said yes :-)

Things got complicated later (as they tend to in a relationship with four people involved), but those 24 hours were amazing. Not just because of my being happy, but perhaps even more so because of the glowing expression on his face everytime I looked over at him.

Congratulations!

And yeah. I hope you can work out the complexity and come to a happy resolution, for all involved.

Leonard Cohen concert on Monday night with my mother, father and best friend wife thing. (technical term for a girl who knows all your secrets and also serves as your drunk kissing partner).

I thought that when Lenny sang Avalanche, I would probably die, but when he sang Famous Blue Raincoat, I realised that right then in that moment, I was living a dream come true. A song I have been singing along to since I learned how to speak was being played out in front of me by a very special man.

For a moment, I realised how lucky I was to be a part of his story, the man who has been a large part of mine all my life. *big, happy, full-heart sigh*

Your turn!
