'"I mean we'd do it for nothing, Mr Pinter. We only have to be asked, you see. We always have to be asked. . . We've been ready for a long time. But we had to be asked, Mr. Pinter. Good night. It has been a pleasure doing business with you."

'. . . They'd been ready for a long time, but they had to be asked...' - Neil Gaiman, "We Can Get Them For You Wholesale"

Just ask.

I found it on ebay, but they said it was damned cause you have to feed it souls, but Im not sure if its just souls, or like souls of the damned, or innocent souls. You see if its innocent souls and you feed it souls of the damned it could teleport you into a Uve Boll movie

Nope, it just says souls. THe manual is kinda beat up, so I am not sure if there is a specific type or now. Id really rather not end up in a Uve Boll movie.

Start with innocent souls. Probably then the worst that can happen is you break it.

That remains one of the most disturbing short stories I have ever read, and I do so love to read me some horror.

I love that entire collection. The horror, the fantasy, all of it. And that one is so subtle.

Oh yes. There was a lot of Very Dark Stuff in that book.
I think I should love to see Gahan Wilson illustrated Gaiman, ala Classics Illustrated #4, or Spooky Tales.
