To get the Universe to give you what you want, you must turn your want into a need.
To turn your want into a need, you must create a space in what you have.
To create a space in what you have, you must destroy what you love.
To destroy what you love, you must be ruthlessly aware of what you want.
Nature doesn't really give a shit about a vaccuum, one way or the other, but our unconscious minds and wills will rush to fill it as quickly as possible.

Deciding you want something bad enough to reclassify it as a "need" usually means some other "need" you already are filling has no longer become a "need" but a "given" or a "luxury" or "burden" - because sometimes we do not recognize our "needs" as having a price and other times our "needs" are already being met without tacit awareness.
Creating space in your life only calls for examining the growth trajectory and categorizing what is created by you, what is given to you free and what is thrust upon you. Being realistic about it and accepting the differences means you can begin to accept the prices or reject the burden. In that way, space appears and you can rush to fill it or not.
