Culture as an Operating System
Jun. 19th, 2010 02:12 amThe phrasing on this McKenna piece is perfect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctjNqQPnAk8
It captures exactly the kind of thing I try to tell everyone, all the time, which is that Conceptual Systems can be swapped out, can be shifted, when they run up against the wall of their usefulness.
The real question for me, is: How do we know which system fits the necessary change state?
Also, i tend to do what i do without "Pharmacological Agents." But your milage, desire, and results may vary.
So, watching that after watching SHUTTER ISLAND, before bed, and in conjunction with How I Am, May not have been the best of ideas. Or it may have been the absolutely best idea I've ever had.
Good night.
