Weird Perceptions
Jun. 5th, 2010 01:34 amJust had a stange epiphany about the nature of perception and the ways in which we portray what we see to others and they will then interpret it as caricature.
For instance: Urkel. Jaleel White's portrayal of the Steve Urkel character was an attempt by ABC to get across the perception that the of the majority of African Americans had of "Nerds." Steve Urkel is then twice-filtered, before being put on screen to be absorbed by the media masses.
