Told you I'd have the Full Review, up soon.

Just a warning: There are some spoilers, there. So, if you haven't seen it, you might want to hold off on reading that.

Otherwise, enjoy!

didnt want to comment on needcoffee... i disagree with your "son of tesla" vs. "son of eddison" correlation...

Howard Stark is noted in movie to have ditched Vanko Sr. because Vanko wanted to use the arc reactor technology to get rich... we'll just ignore the fact that Stark Industries does eventually get rich (although not necessarily off of arc reactor tech).

so Howard had him removed from the country... this isnt a stand off between the sons of two men with differnt viewpoints on creating tech... Vanko and Stark were both on the same page with the creation of the arc reactor tech (it wasnt a question of someone creating it first and then having his tech stolen) they created it together... which is nothing like eddison and tesla... stark and vanko split over financial or humanitarian differences not creative differences.

Actually, Edison and Tesla did split over money. Specifically, Edison promised Tesla a rather large sum of money ($50,000) to improve the Direct Current Motors, on which Edison then reneged.

The real disanalogy comes in as to the humanitarian angle you mentioned: Tesla was the one who saw his work coming into the world and making it all-around Better, while Edison cared more about money.

On the other side of things, there's a more direct Tesla/Edison comparison in the Stark/Hammer relationship. The genius vs. the showy thief.

didnt know Edison had offered Tesla money, and reneged, that makes it more sucktastic. i think the Stark/Hammer foil is makes for a better analog to the Edison/Tesla relationship.

i didnt want to get into any kind of detractor flame war over criticism... i overall completely agreed with your review (as how could i not, your opinions were my own) and i was concerned that i would end up levying some charge that everyone else would completely dogpile.

also, for some reason LJ is not forwarding your comments to me at my email... weird.

Nah. People are usually pretty sensible, over that way, and tend to try to remember to not be dicks.

And that is Very weird...
