Official Rejection Letter from Rice, today.

Weird package from Exeter containing, of all things, my transcripts, and a note inside which says "returned with thanks." This is weird because I had my transcripts sent to them by GSU.

What the fuck?

So that's two full rejections, and one weird missive.

Carry on.

It's weird because there's no reason to return them, and no explanation of the purpose for their return. Very strange behaviour.

maybe someone thought you'd want copies of them.

Maybe. They probably copied them, and didn't need them, anymore. *shrug* still odd.

Ah, the rejection mill... Something I'm reacquainting myself with this year. It still hurts, however.

Yeah. Not as much as I'd thought, though.

I think I'm done with academia, for now...

Which is the big one?

Who/where was the prof who you were mega-super hopeful about? The one you were told was a big user of understatement? I'm having trouble keeping track of their names/locations.
