"Nothing" (Voiceless)
Feb. 15th, 2010 02:14 amI don't like small talk and empty answers. When someone asks, I would rather tell them either precisely what or how I'm doing or some variant of "you don't want to know," than to fall back on "Nothing," or "Okay." They're meaningless answers, and I really hate being asked, when people don't really want to know. If you're a friend, then the full range of the possibilities of what I may be doing, when you ask, should come into your mind, at least briefly, right? As either hopes or fears, if nothing else.
Or maybe that's just me.
I lost my voice, yesterday (Saturday), so of course I'm sitting here at 2 am thinking about what quirks of communications, while I try to force myself not to consider whether my Dollhouse essay actually A) will be accepted even at 2 minutes past deadline, and B) fully meets the criteria.
These thoughts brought to you by the imagined situation in which an ex asks you what you're doing, when you're looking at porn.
Also, do you realise that we can't unironically use the word hypothetical, any more? As soon as the word appears, the conversation is tainted.
See? You're thinkin' about it.
Good night.
