So, as you know, today sucked pretty hard, to start. I still don't know what to do, next. Start over? Go for another master's? Just start my consulting firm? I'm leaning toward the latter.
kylecassidy had some really inspiring things to say, toward the end of this post (http://kylecassidy.livejournal.com/575334.html), and I think it sums up what I try to do, and what I try to get you all to do.
Fuck. Bourbon does weird things to my head. Somewhat maudlin. You see, I've invented a new drink: Wild Turkey and Heritage Dr. Pepper. I'm calling it "A Thanksgiving." Or "the," or maybe just "Thanksgiving." Either way, tell your friends.
I've been taking Erik Davis' advice, from the current chapter I'm reading in TechGnosis, and building memory palaces, today. Assigning information to specific archetypal, deeply resonant imagery and architecture, in my mind. Reading this, I realise that I've done this, all of my life, without knowing that there was a name for it. That's what The Mall, The Hotel, The Hearth, The Labyrinth, and their connecting hallways and doors have been. They are the repositories of symbolic associations; they are representations of memories and their attendant states of mind.
Time to sleep.
