Birthday Ritual: The Goal

I have often said that people exist, at least in part, as the crux of other people's perceptions of them. The images and ideas that other people have of you, in their heads, rebound back to you, and inform what you think of yourself. Shared memories and experiences, hatreds and differences of opinions, fights over stupid shit and hours laughing at phrases like "Cranberry Juice! God DAMN it!" all generate identity.

I have said, not quite as often, that a person who could access the abilities and attributes of Their Selves which reside in the minds of others, and create a contiguous, dynamic Self out of the pieces would be opened to a vast wealth of power, both efficacious and symbolic.

At every intersection of Myself and You, there is a shared, strange view and a juxtaposed amalgamation, a reversal of perspective, and I create a You, and You create a Me.

The Goal of this ritual is manifold:

1) To create a combination of ingredients made from trinkets and rememberances of You-And-Me

2) To access all of the Me's you all have in your heads through said process of physical desrtuction, combination, and mental symbolic resonant access.

3) To amass the property of the access and application of the Finding and Combination and Concatenation of Selves in a sandy, powdery mixture, with which one could provide/impose Introspective Clarity.

4) To give everyone involved the clear, neon-flashing opportunity to experience and access the same properties, for themselvea, if only brefly.

5) Unintended Consequences/Wiggle Room.

Well, two things: 1) see mech_angel's suggestion, below.

2) You can always think of it in the following way: Your foreknowledge of the events not withstanding, your presentation of an object to me has no bearing on You, as a person. What I do with the thing, itself, does not make you a practitioner of a magical act, so much as a participant in potlatch: A mutual sharing of deeply important gifts.

But, if neither of those work for you, then yeah, you could just tell me :)

See, if you just hadn't clarified ... :-P I have no moral objections with encouraging *your* practice of magical arts. Let me think about it and see what resolution I can come to, alright? I don't think giving you something giving you something really makes me a participant any more than having you do a reading on my behalf. Can you just ... not think to much about me being a participant? I figure a lot of this is about what you're focussing and challenging and mentally including in the time. So if you want to include my perceptions of you but don't focus on me as an involved person, would that work?

a) I'd suggest consuming the first part right when you wake up (assuming you go to sleep? otherwise, just start it an hour before) so it's travelling through your body and coming out your sweat while you're ritualating. Of course, you can also burn it, but wotta waste! The wrapper was not part of it at all, no need to burn.

b) The incantata were:

I'm not sure if you want to re-inscribe them with sharpie, or take them as they are, but I thought you should have the option to re-include them.
