So, I'm watching the WebCast Town Hall, and one of the questions about Drug Policy came up. ONE of them. The one about legalization of marijuana as a path to economic recovery. NOT the broader, more clearly worded one about the disparity between the sentences of non-violent drug offenders and many murderers.
Rather than actually ADDRESS and talk about drug policy reform that has CLEAR PROBLEMS-- including but not limited to the Clearly Racially Disparate practice of Mandatory Minimums-- you choose the one which allows you to RIDICULE, DISMISS, and MOVE ON?
There are political dangers in any Drug Policy question. There ALWAYS are. But there are far more politik ways of Dealing with the fucking question-- This question that was ASKED AND SUPPORTED BY *THOUSANDS* of American Citizens, in a Forum YOU CHOSE!-- than Ridiculing it. Dismissing it. And Moving On.
This is my rage, & I don't even CARE about fucking drugs. I DON'T DO DRUGS, and this has pissed me off this much. It's not ABOUT the Drugs!
It's about giving Honest, Logical, Non-Knee-Jerk-Reactionary thought to a problem that affects ALL of us.
