"Laws of Robotics"

A set of guidelines for building and shaping our relationship with the artificial intelligences and robotic beings we create, such that we do not fall into the traps of the "Frankenstein" and "Pinocchio" Complexes, I've discussed here, at length. No. Really. I have. Go search the archives, if you don't believe me. I'll wait.

There. See?

Anyway, he touches on a lot of good points, and I'd like to see their elaboration, so I'm hoping the video will be available, tomorrow.

Enjoy.

Huh. I had explored this before, but "Frankenstein" is probably a better description than "Oedipus' Father". More concise, if nothing else.

He really concisely identified it as "Hubris." This sense of "I Can, so I WILL; I Did, So My Rule Is Law," that gets humans into a ridiculous amount of trouble, all the way around.

We alienate each OTHER with this, so imagine what it would do to a created intelligence complex enough to understand its own situation.

Slightly different point of view. I'm thinking of the fear one holds that one's offspring will kill and replace one.
