Either way works, for me, honestly. I just asked what you saw :)

The hierophant resides between the pillars; there's a sense of earth as well as fire here, sunlight through trees on the pillar of mercy. A glimpse of the heavens, as opposed to heaven? But the hierophant is facing away from this. How much he/she sees is debatable; the peacock feather eye could indicate that it's all for show, or could point at a sense of always being observed (so many eyes on a peacock's tail). There are a spray of musical notes near the trees (unless that's an earring, which I doubt.) The shape of the fire and smoke issuing from the lefthand pillar, as it curls up around the back of the head, suggest a forehead and shadowed eyes. There seems no way to know this person's chosen deity, path or the kind of blessing that is being offered.

Omniscience, regality, posturing, conditional assistance, arrogance tempered with results, power thru peace and calm

I really like the way the eye of the peacock lends itself towards the opening of the third eye and various pineal gland things.

I see it as a sham, the 3rd eye is a fake (the peacock feather). There's also a fair bit of vanity, because I always associate peacocks with vanity.

Haven't seen Him in a while...

Favourite image of this deck. Sight. Reality is illusion. Guiding. Wisdom, maybe without humour.
