The puppet master who is himself a puppet. This feels much more like a conventional hierophant or devil card to me than an emperor card. I don't find the sense of security or power over territory that I associated with the emperor.

remember that for all the strings you pull and hold, there is someone above you doing the same. Be aware of the relationships in and around you
interconnectivity.
with power comes pain, resentment, and responsibility. when undertaking or seeking new avenues of power, keep in mind the detriments as well as the benefits.
look up. look around. be aware of your surroundings. take notes. keep track. use all this to your advantage.
