Pomegranates always remind me of Persephone, though the tilt of the head reminds me of Venus d'Milo.

Persephone, yes, and bountiful amounts of fruit, as befits an earth goddess, but I'm intrigued by the constellation that is moving from her eye to the broken circle, and by the circle itself. In many decks, this card includes a wheel -- a spinning wheel, spindle, other indication of industry or the turn of the seasons -- but this seems to me to be the wheel of the houses in astrology.
