[livejournal.com profile] tsarina_bomba wants a Corsetier with whom others have been very satisfied; What Are Your Suggestions?

I'm familiar with the [livejournal.com profile] corsetry Community; she's looking for something a bit more personal.

So, do any of you make corsets, well? Do you know someone who does? Someone near the Greater Atlanta Area? Comment, here.

Honestly, it's a question I'd like answered, myself. One more thing in my arsenal.

I work with these people at events and such.

I only have their corsets and I love them because they last forever. They are guaranteed for 3 years, made of quality materials, by the designer and her husband.

I've bought two corsets by Damsel in this Dress (on Etsy and Ebay and her own shop http://www.damseldress.com/). When one didn't quite fit, I brought it to her as she was in town relatively soon for a pirate festival. She fixed it on the spot.

Also, she was nice, generous and swapped out a waist cincher for one custom made that matched the coloring of the top better.

my problem largely is that the woman i was most happy with Sharon with Altered_tyme (or some spelling variation thereof) dropped off the face of the earth not long after i bought a corset from her. I've bought a corset from Blooddrop corsets (in Michigan) and was very happy with the results and my current and most favorite corset was made by Electra Designs (look for her memories listing in the corsetry community) however she is also located somewhere outside of GA (not sure where) and she tends to command a very high price in comparison to other corsetiers. My suggestion is to post the question to the community itself and ask for recs for GA corsetiers.

the truth is that a lot of people mail order corsets, and the mock-up (the trial corset) is sent to the customer to try on prior to making the real thing. the customer can take the mock-up to a seamstress (someone like my mother) and have them make or note any adjustments that need to be made, then the customer sends the mock-up back to the corsetier. My mother undoubtedly would do this kind of annotation for free.

I had a woman in Canada that made mine and I was very satisfied with her. She just sent me a list of measurements she needed, then sent me back a custom corset (because I have a long torso) and it was like $90, incl shipping. I'll have to look her info up tho.
